SUMMERTIME, SUMMERTIME . . .
So it’s late and I’ve been working and packing like a crazy woman to get ready for vacation! Anyone ever feel like going on vacation is a ton of work?! But we ALL love it…right?
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer…we have been busy at AFI with a gorgeous Master Bedroom update in Mount Pleasant with several items to share.
MASTER BEDROOM DESIGN – WORKING WITH WHAT YOU LOVE
As a client, one of my favorite things about Alexandre, is how much she loves to incorporate pieces that we already have and adore! The homeowners have a very special piece in their master bedroom, their ketubah. The ketubah, a traditional Jewish marriage agreement, is a precious work of art, and we treated it as such. We used a larger white linen mat and a flat frame in rubbed gold to put the focus on this treasure.
The next item that Alexandre incorporated into the design, was a very functional piece from IKEA. It is a favorite due to it’s space consideration and functionality for shoe storage.
INCORPORATING EXISTING FURNITURE – WITH A TWIST
Alexandre took a very ordinary piece and gave it some pizazz with these amazing Acrylic and Gold Lumiere T knobs – in Satin Brass from Schaub. See another example of switching out hardware for a new look.
The surrounding walls were also updated with a beautiful grasscloth from Thibaut. Stablewood in metallic silver gives the walls a shimmery glow and bounces light around in an otherwise dark room.
REFLECTIVE WALLPAPER – FEELING INSPIRED?
We love working with Thibaut. We know that we will always have high quality materials and a large selection of gorgeous patterns and textures. It’s easy to fall in love with the style and functionality of a particular piece of furniture that you already own. A good designer can incorporate it into your new space. A GREAT designer can add more beauty, more functionality, more pizzaz and make you love it even more!
